A wire stripping machine is a wire harness processing device mainly used to strip the protective layer from wires. It is widely used in automotive wire harness processing, audio and data cable processing, and dismantling and recycling of scrap wires. Classified by function, they can be roughly divided into electronic wire stripping machines, coaxial wire stripping machines and scrap cable stripping machines.

2. Functions of wire stripping machines

(1) Electronic wire stripping machines: electronic wire stripping machines can be further divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic types. Fully automatic wire stripping machines, also called computer wire stripping machines, are generally driven by stepper or servo motors and controlled by PLC or single-chip programming, working fully automatically. They can cut wire to the specified length and strip both ends, and many models have enhanced functions, such as: supporting a small middle window strip, twisting multi-core wires, automatically separating ribbon cables, and stripping multi-layer insulated wires in layers; Semi-automatic wire stripping machines require manual operation. They effectively fill the gap left by fully automatic machines and can process wires that fully automatic machines cannot, such as large cables and core wires of sheathed cables.
(2) Coaxial wire stripping machines: coaxial wire stripping machines are specially used for processing signal cables, such as audio cables, router antennas and laptop data cables. Such harnesses generally have 3 or more protective layers, usually including a metal braid layer for shielding signal interference. Processing accuracy requirements are extremely high, and manual processing is almost impossible. Coaxial wire stripping machines use a rotary blade for rotary cutting, enabling precise layer-by-layer stripping with very high accuracy. They are also divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic models. Semi-automatic coaxial wire stripping machines require manual operation, while fully automatic coaxial cable stripping machines work fully automatically without labor.
(3) Scrap cable stripping machines: scrap cable stripping machines are recycling equipment for scrap wires and cables. They separate the copper core from the insulation layer of cables for separate recycling. They generally use blades to cut open the wire surface, then use rollers to squeeze and separate the insulation from the copper core. For finer and loose scrap wire, copper rice machines are generally used. The copper rice machine crushes the wire, and then equipment such as water shaking punches is used to separate copper granules from the insulation.
